I had a coach in High School that I had a tremendous amount of respect for. He was degree'd up the wazu in literature, every bit the intellectual powerhouse. One day coming back from a game, we were having a "heart to heart" and he told me the single most important piece of advice I have ever received: "You will not do anything more important in life, than raise your kids." However, that duty manifests itself in the details, I embrace this as an absolute. At the end of the day, who really gives a shit how much money you made or how "powerful" you are? What are your kids like? That's what I want to know. What have you passed on to the world?
Great piece Anonymommy.
